Easter Weekend

This weekend I have been in St. George with my family while Jesse is on his way (24 hours of flights… ew.) to NEW ZEALAND!! This is a “work trip” aka vacation of a lifetime + fishing trip of his dreams. I am so incredibly excited for him but I miss him so much already.
One of my favorite parts of the Easter holiday is the videos that the LDS church puts out. They are AMAZING and they always make me feel so grateful for the gospel and how it brings so much light and hope into my life. If you want your life to be changed and uplifted in the most spectacular way, watch this video right now: https://www.mormonchannel.org/watch/collection/easter-videos/princeofpeace. If you’ve already seen it, you should probably watch it again. It’s that good.
After church, we laid outside on the grass in the 80 degree temps, blew bubbles, and played croquet. Can you even imagine a more perfect afternoon?? Okay, if my husband was here it would have been that much more perfect. But still, so great. Jane LOVES being outside. Eating grass is her favorite. And then we topped off the day with the B E S T Easter dinner. My mom made this cake that was to die for, and my little sister became officially official with her new man and that was just the cherry on top of a great day!
I cherish every moment that I spend with my family. For so many years I was absent, either physically or emotionally. Being around them was not pleasant for either parties. There was like a giant elephant in the room every time I was there because everyone knew the horrible decisions I was making, but tried to ignore it just for the holiday so we could try and have a good time. I was usually sneaking around doing something I shouldn’t be doing, and that just added to the unpleasantness of the holidays. Today my life is filled with happiness. Not to say that my life is perfect- because that is FAR from the truth. But it’s a heck of alot better then it was 4 1/2 years ago.  When I was in my “dark days” I used to say all the time “I would give anything for normal people problems!” like bills, flat tires, baby keeping you up all night, etc. Now I have normal people problems and I couldn’t be more grateful.
